My wedding monogram!

Well it's that time for me to begin putting little details together that will make my own wedding stand out form the others. I am so excited to be getting married and even more so after learning that I have this new passion for all things design. I look forward to creating my own invitations, signs that will be displayed around the wedding, putting together our big project (the coffee buffet) and of course the smaller things like our monogram, our guestbook cards, etc.

I came into designing our monogram purely by accident. I was helping another bride with creating a monogram for her wedding and I loved one of them so much, I had to keep the design for my own. I am definitely planning on incorporating the monogram into some stationary elements of the wedding.

I was asked by a co-worker to create a card for her father for father's day. She wanted something that would honor her mother, something that her dad would truly appreciate. The card was made meant to stand on it's own for display. Inside the card is a poem that my co-worker had written about the love between her mother and father after her mother had passed.

The card was constructed of cardstock and an old photo that I was able to restore and retouch in photoshop.

Here are the comments from my co-worker:

"Heather ,

Thank you so much for the card you put together for my dad on fathers day--

By redoing and old photo of my parents from 1947 and placing my poem just right--it was beautiful--

My mom passed ten years ago--and my dad loved this card--

He has it sitting in his living room--(because you made this card into a card/frame)-
what a great idea--

Excellent--oops now how to top this on next year father day event--LOL---
I am sure with your help I will...
Thanks again
Mary Lou Root"
